Lead time varies by category and stitch complexity. Dupattas take 2–4 days, kurtis 3–5 days, sarees and suit sets 4–7 days, and lehengas or sharara sets 5–8 days given their detailed embroidery work. See our stitch guide for technique-specific time estimates.

Genuine Chikankari is entirely hand-embroidered using techniques like Bakhiya, Murri, Phanda and Jaali, each taking hours to weeks depending on complexity. Machine embroidery cannot replicate the texture, shadow-work depth or irregularity that makes hand-stitched Chikankari distinctive. Lucknow Chikankari also carries a Government of India GI (Geographical Indication) tag protecting its authenticity.
